It was a special evening for Unity Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 708 on Friday 11th October. Firstly, it was honoured by the first Provincial Visit of the new Mark Provincial Year. On this occasion the team of Officers for 2024-2025 was led by our Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W. Bro. Paul Hilditch, P.A.G.Swd.B. Then, secondly, after being warmly welcomed into the lodge by the Immediate Past Master W. Bro. Victor Wentworth Harlow, the team witnessed an excellent ceremony during which Bro. Michael West and Bro. Ashley Merrilees were advanced to the honourable degree of Mark Master Mason. We congratulate and welcome both brethren and hope that they have many years enjoying the companionship and friendship of the Order.
It was also encouraging for Unity Lodge and Mark Masonry in Northumberland to see that after the ceremony, a ballot took place for a further two candidates for Advancement.
Once the ceremonial activities had been completed, the Lodge members and guests then retired to Barluga restaurant in Morpeth for an excellent meal and to continue the evening in friendship and harmony.

MBF Shines Bright at the Lighthouse Community Hub with a Generous Award of £30,000!
St Cuthbert’s Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners has passed the Travelling Sceptre to Triangle Lodge of Installed Commanders which meets on the 2nd Friday in February, the 1st Tuesday in April (Annual Royal Ark Mariner Assembly – in Ashington Masonic Hall 2026) and holds its Installation Meeting on 2nd Friday on September. All Royal Ark Mariners are welcome to attend the Lodge meetings.
Hexham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1141 relinquished the unclaimed Travelling Gavel at our Annual Provincial Meeting on 27th September and it was presented to the Worshipful Master of Nepos Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1155, which meets at Newcastle East Masonic Building, Corbridge Road, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 1HY on the third Tuesdays in March (Installation), May, September and November. It’s there to be claimed.
