Deputy PGM heads South for the last APM of the Season

Saturday 28th June and another very warm day (29’) for the Annual Provincial Meeting of Northampton, Huntingdon and Bedford. This time it was our DeputyProvGM, V. W. Bro. Richard Northey, who made the long journey south to Freemasons’ Hall, The Griggs Centre, Sheaf Close, in Northampton for the meeting. This thankfully, being a relatively new building, had efficient air conditioning which was much appreciated by the brethren. Another warm and friendly welcome was given by their ProvGM, R. W. Bro. David Sowerby, and the members of the Province to the many Distinguished Guests present.

There then followed a well-run and enjoyable Meeting during which, after the DeputyPGM had been re-appointed, W. Bro. Stephen Andrew Hardy was appointed and invested as the new Assistant Provincial Grand Master. There then followed the usual Provincial business which included the appointment of the Officers of the Year. We congratulate all who were appointed and hope they have a happy and enjoyable year in office.

After the meeting had concluded there followed an excellent Festive Board which featured a very enjoyable roast beef dinner. As always, this proved to be another great day with old and new friends.

Another wonderful example of the ‘Magic of the Mark’ which made the long journey to Northampton well worth the effort!

The Great North Air Ambulance receives Grant from MBF

The Travelling Sceptre has found its way to the very far north of the Province to Berwick-upon-Tweed and now resides in the care of St Cuthbert’s Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 192.   It’s there to be won, but the Lodge only meets twice a year on the 1st Wednesday in May and October, and that’s the challenge.

The Travelling Gavel has left Whitley Bay and moved from the furthest east of the Province to the furthest west and is now in the possession of Hexham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1141.   Perhaps it can now make its way to the far north to compete the Northumberland triangle.
