Surprise Provincial visit to Morpeth 691

Morpeth Mark welcomes its latest member

On Thursday 20th April 2023, Morpeth Lodge MMM No 691 welcomed its latest member into Mark Masonry.

The candidate on the evening was Bro. Richard Brian Erskine and he was advanced into the Order in an exemplary manner with the ceremony being conducted with dignity and sincerity by the Master, W. Bro. Denis Beecroft ProvGAlm, and the officers of the Lodge. Special thanks going to W. Bro. Stephen Matthews P.A.G.D.C. for his explanation of the signs and secrets of the degree.

After the ceremony had concluded the DPGM, V. W. Richard Northey, welcomed Bro. Richard into Mark Masonry in Northumberland and hoped he had many happy and enjoyable years within the Order. The DPGM then presented an Advancee’s Pack to the candidate which contained, among other things, the Northumberland Mark tie, handkerchief, ritual book, history of the Province and more useful information.

DPGM welcomes Joining Member from across the Border

The DPGM also took the opportunity to formally welcome a joining member into the Lodge. This being Bro. Tim Slater who is currently Right Worshipful Master of Lodge Kelso & Tweed No. 58 in the Provincial Grand Lodge of the Scottish Borders which is one of the oldest Lodges in Scotland. The DPGM again expressed the wish that Bro. Tim too, had many happy and enjoyable years within the Order and he then went on to present him with his Grand Lodge certificate and explained to him the various markings on the certificate and their significance.

After the meeting had closed everyone retired to the festive board where the evening continued with an excellent meal being enjoyed in good company.
Another wonderful Mark evening!

The Great North Air Ambulance receives Grant from MBF

The Travelling Sceptre, without the use of a Satnav,  has found its way back to Whitley Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 788.   It’s there to be rescued.

The Travelling Gavel has left Whitley Bay and moved from the furthest east of the Province to the furthest west and is now in the possession of Hexham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1141.   Perhaps it can now make its way to the far north to compete the Northumberland triangle.
