Distinguished Service receives a 50 Year Double at TI

Another landmark was added to the long and distinguished history of Northumberland and Berwick Upon Tweed Lodge of Mark Masters Time Immemorial on Wednesday 23rd April at the Masonic Hall in Cramlington. This was the occasion when one of its longest serving members, W. Bro. Bob Dixon, was presented with two 50-year certificates celebrating his years of service to the Mark Degree in Northumberland by the Provincial Grand Master, R. W. Bro. Raymond Walton.

W Bro. Ray was delighted to be able to present the two certificates, the first on behalf of M.W. Bro. His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, CGVO, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons, and the second on behalf of the Mark Province of Northumberland.

Bro. Bob was advanced into Mark Masonry on 23rd April 1975 and became Worshipful Master in November 1989. He eventually received the honour of P.G.Std.B. in June 2004 and was promoted in June 2011 to G.J.D. becoming P.G.J.D. in June 2012. Bro. Bob has remained active and continued to be a tremendous support to the Lodge through the years only recently retiring from the office of Treasurer in 2023. He was also a Founder Member of Oriental Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1890 in 2008 becoming Worshipful Master in 2009. He then took on the roles of Treasurer and D.C. and has only recently stepped down as A.D.C. of the Lodge.

After R. W. Bro. Ray had presented the certificates to W. Bro. Bob, the Provincial Grand Master then thanked him for his many years of loyal and dedicated service to the Mark degree and he hoped that he would have many more years to enjoy the companionship and friendship of the Order.

Bro. Bob has had a long and illustrious career in Freemasonry and holds high office in many of the Orders in which he is a member, and we congratulate him on achieving this magnificent milestone.

The Great North Air Ambulance receives Grant from MBF

The Travelling Sceptre has found its way to the very far north of the Province to Berwick-upon-Tweed and now resides in the care of St Cuthbert’s Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 192.   It’s there to be won, but the Lodge only meets twice a year on the 1st Wednesday in May and October, and that’s the challenge.

The Travelling Gavel has left Whitley Bay and moved from the furthest east of the Province to the furthest west and is now in the possession of Hexham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1141.   Perhaps it can now make its way to the far north to compete the Northumberland triangle.
