Bro. Ken was advanced into Backworth Mark Lodge No. 1189 on 14^th April 1981 and became Master in 1989, eventually becoming DC in 2014 and then again in 2018. His first Provincial Appointment came in 1994 with promotion following in 1999. He was then appointed to Grand Rank in 2003 when he was awarded the rank of Past Grand Inner Guard.

Bro. Ken also received his 40 year certificate of long service to the Mark Degree in 2021.

He is also a member of Backworth Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 1189 being elevated on 8^th December 1987, becoming Commander in 1998 and then D.C. in 2005. He was appointed to Prov.R.A.M.G.R. in 2005 and then to R.A.M.G.R.in 2017.

He continues to be active in the Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Degrees and is well known throughout the Province. He remains a strong supporter of the Orders visiting many other Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Lodges.

On his visit to the latest meeting of Grainger Mark Lodge No. 1147, where he is an Honorary Member, the Lodge presented to W. Bro. Ken a bottle of ‘Linkwood 15 year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky’ to help him celebrate his birthday!
