Another memorable event occurred in the Province when Grainger Lodge MMM No 1147 received a Provincial Visit on Friday 24th March 2023.
On this occasion the Provincial Team was led by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master V. W. Bro. Richard Northey P.G.J.O. There was a tremendous turn out from the Provincial Team with nearly 20 Officers being present including the A.P.G.M. W. Bro. Paul Hilditch.
The team received a wonderful reception from the Master, W. Bro. Ken Scott and the other members of the Lodge.
After the Team had been welcomed into the Lodge they were then treated to an excellent talk given by W. Bro. John Bryan P.A.G.D.C of Cramlington Lodge No. 1235. W. Bro. John is well known for delivering very interesting and informative talks in a relaxed manner and this one was no exception. It was entitled ‘Glass’ and covered not only its ancient history and development but also its many uses in modern day society. Many thanks go to John for coming along and giving such a well-researched and well delivered presentation.
Once the formalities of the meeting were finished, we were then treated to an excellent meal in very enjoyable and convivial company. During the meal in conversation, the Master, W. Bro. Ken said how much he enjoyed the friendliness of the Mark degree and how much enjoyment he got from being a member.
Another moment of the ‘Magic of the Mark’.

The Travelling Sceptre, without the use of a Satnav, has found its way back to Whitley Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 788. It’s there to be rescued.
The Travelling Gavel has left Whitley Bay and moved from the furthest east of the Province to the furthest west and is now in the possession of Hexham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1141. Perhaps it can now make its way to the far north to compete the Northumberland triangle.
