Our Provincial Grand Master, R. W. Bro. Ray Walton, was present at the recent Installation Ceremony of De La Val Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 1290 on Friday 29th August held at Seaton Delaval Masonic Hall.

The main business of the evening was to see Bro. Desmond Michael Fitzgerald installed as the new Worshipful Commander of this fine Lodge. The ceremony was carried out by the outgoing Commander, our own Asst.ProvGM W. Bro. Hugh MacLeod, in a heartfelt and exemplary manner. W. Bro. Des, the newly installed Commander, then went on to appoint and invest his Officers for the coming year.
Following this, the Provincial Grand Master was pleased to take the opportunity to make a field promotion in the Mark Degree to W. Bro. John Barlow to Past Prov.GJW. This was for all his hard work and continuing efforts in the Lodge. W. Bro. John was then congratulated by R. W. Bro. Ray and all brethren present.
After the Lodge had been closed there followed an excellent festive board with the usual and also, well-delivered toasts. Twenty nine brethren dined and enjoyed a hearty 3-course meal in good company.
Another memorable evening in this Ancient and Honourable Fraternity for all present.
