The Annual Provincial Meeting 2025 - Another Wonderful Day at Hexham!

Saturday 27th September, proved to be another wonderful day for the Mark Province of Northumberland when we again held our Annual Provincial Meeting in the superb Tynedale Auction Mart Function Suite at Hexham.

The meeting was well supported with over 100 members and over 40 Distinguished Guests from 12 Provinces in attendance. The presence of our visitors always greatly enhances the occasion for us, and we are grateful to them for taking the time and making the effort to be with us on the day.

The meeting proved to be very successful and ran very smoothly which was testimony to the tremendous amount of hard work put in by the Secretariat and DC’s team to ensure that all went well.

Many congratulations go to all those brethren who received appointments, re-appointments and promotions in Provincial Grand Lodge. They were all very well deserved, and we hope that they have a happy and enjoyable year in office.

During his address, the Provincial Grand Master, R. W. Bro. Ray Walton, once again shared some wonderful news with us all. This was that we had successfully petitioned the Mark Benevolent Fund for a grant of £25,000 towards the much-needed upgrade of the Whitley Bay Scout Group building in Cullercoats. Our grateful thanks to the Trustees of the Mark Benevolent Fund for this wonderful gesture and enabling this improvement to take place. This again having a significant impact in our local community.

Congratulations to the Secretariat and the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies’ team for arranging and managing such a well organised day.

Many thanks to the staff at Hexham Mart for their help and fantastic service which helped make it such a wonderful day, not only for us, but also our many guests. Also grateful thanks to the catering staff for the excellent food provided for us after the meeting.

Another wonderful day of Mark Masonry in Northumberland!

BREAKING NEWS

MBF Shines Bright at the Lighthouse Community Hub with a Generous Award of £30,000!

The Travelling Sceptre has found its way to the very far north of the Province to Berwick-upon-Tweed and now resides in the care of St Cuthbert’s Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 192.   It’s there to be won, but the Lodge only meets twice a year on the 1st Wednesday in May and October, and that’s the challenge.

The Travelling Gavel has left Whitley Bay and moved from the furthest east of the Province to the furthest west and is now in the possession of Hexham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1141.   Perhaps it can now make its way to the far north to compete the Northumberland triangle.
