PGM and his Team meet their Neighbours at Carlisle Racecourse

Thursday 19th June and another wonderful day of Mark Masonry! This time, on a very warm sunny day, a strong contingent consisting of our ProvGM, R. W. Bro. Ray Walton, Deputy ProvGM, V. W. Bro. Richard Northey, Asst. ProvGM, W. Bro. Hugh Macleod, ProvGSec, W. Bro. John Park, Deputy ProvGSec, Bro. John Murray, along with with W. Bros. George Tuck and Bob Weatherston attended the Annual Provincial Meeting of our neighbours in Cumberland & Westmorland at the splendid Carlisle Racecourse.

We and the rest of the Distinguished Guests received the traditional very friendly welcome from their ProvGM, R. W. Bro. Barry Kirkbride, and the members of the Province.

There then followed a very enjoyable Provincial Meeting during which, the Officers of the year were appointed by the ProvGM. This included our own ProvGSec, W. Bro. John Park, who is also a member of the Province, being promoted to Past Provincial Grand Master Overseer. We congratulate all who were appointed and hope they have a happy and enjoyable year.

The meeting concluded with an excellent Festive Board with good food in good company and hospitality that was second to none.

The Great North Air Ambulance receives Grant from MBF

The Travelling Sceptre has found its way to the very far north of the Province to Berwick-upon-Tweed and now resides in the care of St Cuthbert’s Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 192.   It’s there to be won, but the Lodge only meets twice a year on the 1st Wednesday in May and October, and that’s the challenge.

The Travelling Gavel has left Whitley Bay and moved from the furthest east of the Province to the furthest west and is now in the possession of Hexham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1141.   Perhaps it can now make its way to the far north to compete the Northumberland triangle.
