Certificate Celebrations for two Worthy Brethren

W. Bro. John Barlow

At the Installation Meeting of De La Val Lodge Mark Lodge No. 1290 yesterday on Thursday 11th September, W. Bro. Jeff Ormston, A.G.D.C. our Prov. Grand Charity Steward, took the opportunity to present W. Bro. John Barlow with his Certificate following his recent field promotion by our Provincial Grand Master, R. W. Bro. Ray Walton, to Past Provincial Grand Junior Warden.

This promotion was in response to W. Bro. John’s hard work and effort in supporting the Lodge. He has held many offices over the years but most importantly has been Worshipful Master on no less than five separate occasions. In 2009, 2010, 2016 and most recently in 2022 and 2023.

We thank W. Bro. John for his hard work and efforts in supporting the Lodge. and hope for his continued support and that he has many more years enjoying the friendship and companionship of this wonderful Order

W. Bro. Paddy Watters

Since he took over the administration of the Recycled Regalia Initiative for the Mark Province of Northumberland in 2019, W. Bro. Paddy Watters P.A.G.Swd.B. has worked with great dedication and enthusiasm in this role. He has always gone out of his way to ensure that brethren have received the required regalia and often travelled many miles to deliver it safely. This hard work has, of course, made a significant contribution to the fund raising of the Northumberland Mark Benevolent Fund for which we are very grateful.

Earlier this year W. Bro. Paddy made the decision to step down from this role. In response to of all his hard work and efforts our Provincial Grand Master, R. W. Bro. Ray Walton, yesterday, presented him with a Certificate of Recognition from the Province marking his achievements along with a gratefully received bottle of wine.

We thank W. Bro. Paddy for his years of loyal and dedicated service in this role and hope he continues to enjoy the companionship and friendship of the Order.

BREAKING NEWS

MBF Shines Bright at the Lighthouse Community Hub with a Generous Award of £30,000!

The Travelling Sceptre has found its way to the very far north of the Province to Berwick-upon-Tweed and now resides in the care of St Cuthbert’s Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 192.   It’s there to be won, but the Lodge only meets twice a year on the 1st Wednesday in May and October, and that’s the challenge.

The Travelling Gavel has left Whitley Bay and moved from the furthest east of the Province to the furthest west and is now in the possession of Hexham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1141.   Perhaps it can now make its way to the far north to compete the Northumberland triangle.
